What you see here is a spider (or radar) chart. We are comparing the OEM bike vs different Aurora Layouts that we have in our range. There are five areas of interest.
1. Ergonomics. This is your instrument layout. Are they in a better position? Easier to see? Higher is better.
2. Fuel capacity. In this case it remains unchanged.
3. Protection. This is protection from the elements and is based on our own tests and feedback from customers. The higher the protection, the higher the number.
4. Lights. OEM lights are fully legal. In our kits not only you upgrade the lights, but you can install full off-road LED units for max performance.
5.Weight. That's a necessary evil. We remove and we add parts on the bikes and the net effect is sometimes a heavier bike, or in the case of our Superlight kit a lighter bike.
6. Racing. Get ready to race! Higher is better.

Design

Designed in collaboration with Dosmoto, this kit is an add-on that will improve the bike's aesthetics beyond belief!
It's aerodynamic! Direct air away from your legs and torso, these Glossy ABS side panels will allow you to travel further, safer..
It's reliable! The tower is manufactured since 2016 and has received many updates since its birth. It features our unique CCZ™ (Crash Crumple Zones) which will result in better protection of your gear during a crash. The screen, manufactured by KTM® is made out of Nylon material and it is next to impossible to break.
The kit comes pre-assembled! Everything is assembled for ease of use and reference. Our team is online close to 24/7 and you can text, e-mail us should you need help so that installation goes smoothly!
Serial numbers in all parts! Each sub-assembly has a dedicated, unique serial number. We are able to back trace down to the person and the exact date that this sub-assembly was manufactured. Our unique quality control system means ease of mind when you install and Aurora!

Head Clamp
The most integral part. Should this part fail, regardless of how good the rest of the structure is, it will crumble on the ground taking with it all the electrics of the bike. This is the foundation of the kit. Since 2016 Aurora Rally Equipment is proud to have zero head clamp failures in all the environments and riding conditions. Racing, Traveling, Commuting. Our data shows that there is no difference in racing and traveling as far as the damage that one can be inflicted onto these parts. To the contrary, there is substancial proof that amateur riders, sometimes, cause more harm to the equipment than the pro riders. The clamp is machined out a solid block of aluminium with special spacers and a chro-moly U-bolt designed and manufactured specifically for that purpose. It is warrantied for life, as are all of our frame clamps.
Plug play and go with unmatched aesthetics
The ABS panels are ready to be installed and no modification to the bike is needed in any way.
We opted for designing our own, unique side panels. Made of ABS they are flexible, and they match the lines of the bike perfectly.
The width of the bike is not altered, and the panels can be removed by undoing four bolts.
Your 701 Long Range can be reversed at any time back to its original state without worrying a bit!

Navigation Tower
We have been actively involved in the Rally scene since 2013. We happened to be one of the first companies in the field that was given access to the KTM Carbon tower.
So much so, that we realized that its complexity could not simply be replicated by no 'local garage'. It can only be done by a professional, composite company.
Thus, remaining true to ourselves and our brand’s heritage, we have designed a navigation tower like no other.
Easy cable access, strong yet flexible to protect your valuable gear, this tower can be transformed either to a digital setup using HighwayDirtbikes unique iPad and iPhone cases, or to a rally cockpit using the winning Aurora Rally Equipment dedicated plates.
Materials have been chosen carefully to allow the assembly to be strong, yet flexible and always keep your equipment protected, even at a crash.

This is the only tower for 701 in the market that comes with preinstalled special rivet nuts making installation a real joy!
Powerful lights
Lights are one of the most important feautures of your bike. They can make a journey pure joy or then can turn it into a nightmare depending on the setup used.
In Aurora we are firm believers in good quality lighting as they are key for your safety. We use OEM Hella lights for our default setup, with the High Beam being a fully legal LED headlight. Both units come straight from the KTM® 450 Rally Factory Replica.
The high beam can be upgraded to a Baja Designs® Squadron LED (Sport or Pro) at additional cost, for fully off-road riding. Having the choice between full off-road and fully legal lights allows you to customise the setup according to your needs.
The KTM® original Stone Guard is a polycarbonate protector for your lights, and you can change it separately in case of damage. Furthermore, the indicator lights are hidden behind the screen, protecting the indicators in case of mild crashes.
The RGB position light allows you to choose the color from seven different combinations using an integrated dip switch.
Stock wiring loom
No need to cut your stock wiring. We traced all the original OEM connectors to allow you to quickly install your kit and ride the bike. We use IP67 rated connectors in all our looms and we ensure that no damage will be done to the bike’s electrical system by the add ons. No need to extend the cables due to our unique tower design. Now you have even more time to prepare for that trip!
Everything comes pre-assembled
Ask before you buy because other ‘bolt on’ kits you’d have to assemble even all the Dzus fasteners with their retaining clips. In Aurora 701LR Rally, everything is pre-assembled. The kit can be installed on the bike in a few hours. Easily. And off you go!
PARTS THAT NEED TO BE MODIFIED TO THE POINT BEYOND RETURN
- We recommend to trim the side frame covers. To revert back to the OEM, you may purchase the OEM frame covers from Aurora.
- You have to cut the rear part of the front mask of the bike to remove it if you don't want to detach the brake lines from the bike
What's included in the kit
- Navigation Tower which is made from Aluminum, steel and polymers. This is the tower that has won the Morocco Desert Challenge with Joakim Lundby and since its birth there are no structural failures. The tower comes complete with lights. Hella Projector as a main beam with a cut off so that you do not blind the fellow riders/drivers even when a LED or HID bulb is installed. High beam is a LED unit from Hella, taken directly from the 2019 KTM 450 Rally Replica bike.
